Health Insurance Q&A/Sign-Up
The library will be holding a health insurance open-enrollment Q&A/Sign-up program on Thursday November 14 at 4:00 in the Community Room of the library. Please use the Green Street entrance. Staff from the PA Insurance Department will be present to aid those looking to learn more about marketplace insurance options. For the month of November, HAPL’s Hazy Painters will be able to redesign any work of famous cartoonist, Charles M. Schulz in celebration of his birthday (November 26). This family friendly program is free and open to the public and takes place Saturday, November 16 at 1:30 in the Community Room (Green Street entrance).Registration is required; to register - visit or call the library at 570-454-2961. Microsoft Word, a popular word processor developed by Microsoft, is one of the most common tools used for creating and sharing one’s ideas and work in today’s digital world. The library will be hosting an introductory program on Tuesday, November 19 at 10:00 in the Reference Department. Registration is required as seating is limited. Holiday Ornament Craft
Join us Tuesday, November 19 at the Hazleton Area Public Library for an adult holiday ornament craft. Attendees will be painting holiday ornaments using fluid art. This is a beginner’s class; no experience is necessary. Please wear something comfortable as this can be a little messy. Class will start at 6:00 in the Community Room. November Lap-Sit Baby and Me
On Saturday, November 16, begin your baby’s love of learning with stories, fingerplays, lap bounces, and songs. Older siblings may join. The program begins at 10:00 and lasts 45 minutes. Explorer Club: Ancient Greece
This group meets once a month and is for students in grades 3-6. Each month we explore a different topic with hands-on activities and games. Teen Time: Gingerbread House Competition
Teens in grades 7-12 will create their own faux gingerbread houses using graham crackers on Tuesday, November 26 from 6:00-7:00. The houses will then be displayed in the library allowing the public to vote for their favorites.
