We all have a story to tell, so start writing yours now. Our monthly workshop focuses on generating new material in a supportive environment. Prompts will be provided, but feel free to write anything you want. Participants are invited to read their writing aloud; share as much or little as you want. Feedback and comments concentrate on what is strong and good about the work. All genres-fiction, poetry, memoir, etc.- and any experience level welcome; even if you don't consider yourself a writer. The workshop takes place Saturday, November 2 at 1:00 in the Community Room (Green Street entrance). Adults and teens 16+ are welcome to attend. Adulting 101: Basic Auto Care/Winterizing One’s Car
The Hazleton Area Public Library will be hosting its second Adulting 101 program Tuesday, November 5 at 6:00. The topic for this program is basic auto care/winterizing one’s vehicle. Adults and teens 14+ are welcome to attend this free program. The program takes place in the Community Room (Green Street Entrance) of the library. Registration is required. The library will be hosting its monthly drop in tech-time tutoring session on Wednesday, November 6 from 6:00-7:00. Health Insurance Q&A/Sign-Up
The library will be holding a health insurance open-enrollment Q&A/Sign-up program on Thursday, November 14 at 4:00 in the Community Room (Green Street entrance) of the library. Staff from the PA Insurance Department will be present to aid those looking to learn more about marketplace insurance options. For the month of November, HAPL’s Hazy Painters will be able to redesign any work of famous cartoonist, Charles M. Schulz in celebration of his birthday (November 26). This family friendly program is free and open to the public and takes place Saturday, November 16 at 1:30 in the Community Room (Green Street Entrance). Intro to Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word, a popular word processor developed by Microsoft, is one of the most common tools used for creating and sharing one’s ideas and work in today’s digital world. The library will be hosting an introductory program on Tuesday, November 19 at 10:00 in the Reference Department. Registration is required as seating is limited. Explorer Club: Ancient Greece
This group meets once a month and is for students in grades 3-6. Each month we explore a different topic with hands-on activities and games.
