eBooks & You
The Hazleton Area Public Library is pleased to offer a drop-in eBook assistance program on Monday, August 27th from 3:00-4:00. The goal of this program is to provide a time and space where patrons can ask questions and get the help they need in order to use this service. This program is free and open to the public, and registrations are not required. We ask that attendees bring their devices to this program. Other questions may be directed to the library’s reference desk at 570-454-2961.
Do you have questions about, or need help with your mobile technology? The library will be hosting a drop in, tech-time tutoring session on Tuesday, August 28th from 3:00-4:00. One of our knowledgeable staff members will be available downstairs in the reference department, ready to answer your questions. This program is free and open to the public. No reservations are required as this is a drop in event. For any questions about the program, call the reference department of the library at 570-454-2961, and ask for Jeff.

Summer Reading Program Team Winners
We wish to congratulate the Summer Quest Program’s Orange Team for reading the most books out of the five teams. The blue team read 334 books over the summer. A total of 1260 books were read by all five teams combined.
Our first STEAM program of the school year will take place on Monday, September 10th from 6:00-7:00. In the STEAM program, students in grades 4-8 experiment with different forms of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins today.
Teen Advisory Board
This meeting is for high school students ages 14-18 who are interested in creating the library’s Teen Advisory Board. Teen Advisory Boards typically assist in planning teen programs and contributing ideas to reach teens in our community. It takes place on Tuesday, September 11th at 6:00. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins Tuesday, September 4th.
Thursday, September 13th at 10:30 is the first session of the library’s new Lapsit Program. The program is for children ages 6 months to 23 months. It involves stories, fingerplays, lap bounces, and songs. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins Tuesday, September 4th.
