Summer Quest for Kids
Registration for the library’s Summer Quest Program will begin Monday June 11th and continue throughout the summer. Summer Quest is open to children who will be entering grades one through twelve in the fall who have their own library card. Club members will receive a calendar of events and activities upon enrollment. The Hazleton Area Public Library will also host a Read-To-Me Summer Reading Program for Toddlers and Preschoolers.   Read-To-Me members may use their parents’ library cards to participate. A calendar of storytimes will be provided at registration.

The Summer Quest Program will be offered at the main library and its branches. Children may enroll only at one location. A parent or legal guardian must be present to enroll the child. Members will be asked to perform eight educational activities to complete the Summer Quest. The activities range from reading and arts to technology and experiences.

Youth Volunteers
The Children’s Department of the library is now seeking youth volunteers between the ages of 14 and 17 who are interested in helping with the Summer Quest Program.   Volunteers are scheduled for two hours per week over the course of the summer. Hours can be used toward graduation projects. Teens interested in volunteering should visit the Children’s Department and pick-up an application. For more information, contact the Children’s Department of the Library at 570-454-2961. Applications are due by Monday, June 4th.
