HAPL Window Displays
Hazleton Area Public Library pays homage to Martin Luther King, Jr. in one of its entryway window displays throughout the month of January. In the opposite window, HAPL celebrates National Puzzle Day on Monday, January 29th. Check out all things puzzles! As an added bonus to this display, come into the library on this date and help us create some puzzles. There will be a puzzle for children, young adults, and adults. So come join in the fun!
Patron Weather Notice
In the event the Hazleton Area School District schedules a delay due to weather conditions, Hazleton Area Public Library will open at 10:00.Please call the library at 570-454-2961, or visit this website or our Facebook page on days when weather conditions are “severe” to verify that HAPL will be open.
Hazleton Area Public Library begins its new book club season on Thursday, January 11th at 6:00 in HAPL’s Community Room (Green St. Entrance). Anyone interested in joining the group, should phone HAPL’s reference desk to sign up.
Teen Time Snow Globes
Students in grades 7-12 are invited to join us as we make snow globes! The program takes place on Tuesday, January 9th from 6:00-7:00. You must register by calling the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.
Registration for the Winter Storytime session begins today. Toddler Storytime for children currently ages 2 and 3 will be offered Wednesdays at 11:00. Toddlers must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Preschool Storytime for children ages 4-5 will be offered Wednesdays at 6:00. The six week session of Preschool Storytime incorporates many facets of early learning and school readiness. For more information, contact the Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.
On Monday, January 15 (Martin Luther King Day) from 2:00-3:00, children in grades 1-8 are invited to join us at the library for our LEGO Time program. Bring your LEGOS and show off your building skills! Don’t have LEGOS? No problem. We will pair you with another student. Registration is required and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.
